Class Activity Monitor – Privacy Policy

Institute of Canadian Education (ICE Education and ICE Islamia School)
Last updated: September 29, 2026

Class Activity Monitor is a Chrome extension used by the Institute of Canadian Education ("the School") to help students stay focused during live classes. It is installed by the School's administrator on school-managed Google accounts only. This policy explains what information the extension collects, why, and how it is handled.

When the extension is active

The extension only shares information while a teacher has turned monitoring on for a class. When monitoring is off, or after a session ends (sessions end automatically after a set time limit), nothing is sent. Students are notified when monitoring starts and stops.

How the information is used

The information is used only to show the student's teacher which site is open during class, for classroom supervision and student safety. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used for any purpose unrelated to the extension.

Who can see it

Only the student's teachers and authorized School administrators can see the information. It is stored on the School's own server hosted on Google Cloud in Canada. It is not shared with any other third party, except where required by law.

How long it is kept

Activity records are kept only as long as needed for classroom supervision and School records, and are then deleted.
